Since day one, responsible product development has been a central pillar of the Uniform Standard design ethos. We carefully select premium materials that integrate seamlessly with our designs and elevate both form and function.
Our footwear is crafted using the highest-quality full-grain Italian leathers, chosen for their exceptional texture, colour, and durability. We partner exclusively with tanneries audited and certified by the Leather Working Group, which evaluates environmental compliance and performance against the industry’s most rigorous standards.
Our primary tanneries are rated Gold, the highest level achievable, and all of our leathers meet REACH chemical compliance requirements.
Our custom European outsoles are produced with up to 20% recycled rubber and have been designed to deliver optimal comfort and durability. The process of recycling rubber is time-consuming. Each colour has to be individually hand-sorted, mixed and re-blended to produce outsoles that look good and last long.
Our moulded leather lined padded footbeds are manufactured using 100% recycled high density polyurethane foam designed for superior comfort and breathability and have an active carbon coating to enhance odour resistance.
Our flexible insole boards are specially developed using 100% recycled cellulose fibres that have no added dyes and effectively wick perspiration away from the foot.
Our sturdy shoe box is made from existing die forms to save energy. They are also made near to our shoe factory to save transport emissions and are designed to store your sneakers for many years.
