How to Clean and Care for Leather Sneakers.
The difference between leather sneakers that age beautifully and ones that look beaten up after six months comes down entirely to how you care for them.

Full-grain leather is one of the most durable materials in footwear — but it's still a natural material that responds to how it's treated. A simple, consistent care routine prevents premature wear and allows the leather to develop the patina that makes a well-kept sneaker look intentional rather than tired.
Daily habits that make the biggest difference
The most effective thing you can do costs nothing: let your leather sneakers breathe after wear. Remove them, loosen the laces, and leave them somewhere with airflow for at least an hour before storing. This lets moisture evaporate rather than sitting against the leather lining.
A quick wipe with a dry cloth after each wear removes surface dust before it settles into the leather, thirty seconds that prevents the build-up requiring more aggressive cleaning later.
Monthly deep clean: step by step
Remove laces and brush off loose dirt
Use a dry natural bristle brush, working gently in the direction of the grain.
Apply leather cleaner
Work a small amount of Saphir Sneaker Foam Cleaner into the leather with a horse hair brush in circular motions, focusing on scuff-prone areas around the toe and heel.
Dry naturally
Wipe away residue with a clean damp cloth. Allow to dry at room temperature and never use heat, which cracks and warps leather.
Condition and protect
Apply Saphir Renovateur cream with a soft cloth to replenish natural oils and prevent cracking. Finish with Saphir Invulner stain and water protector spray every 4–6 weeks.
Caring for suede and nubuck
Suede requires a different approach. Never use water, even clean water can leave tide marks. Use a crepe brush to lift the nap and remove surface dirt, a suede rubber eraser for stubborn marks, and use Saphir Renovateur spray to restore colour and protect against future staining.

Storage
Insert shoe trees after every wear to hold the shape and prevent toe box creasing. Store in the cotton dustbag supplied keeping away from direct sunlight, which fades leather and dries out the natural oils. Rotate pairs regularly, the same shoe worn every day wears faster than two pairs worn alternately.

White sole restoration
For yellowed white soles, apply Saphir Deep Clean with a stiff brush and leave for 2–3 minutes before scrubbing. Avoid bleach as it cleans initially but accelerates yellowing over time and can damage the bond between sole and upper.
